A bright, sunny day and a stop at the car wash seemed to be the cause of a four-car crash in front of Al’s Auto Wash on S. Lapeer Rd. Sunday afternoon.
A 58-year-old Oxford man Oxford was waiting in the southbound lane in his Jeep Grand Cherokee to turn left into the carwash as well as another 51-year-old Metamora man driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee who stopped behind him.
A 48-year-old Oxford man driving a Dodge pick-up truck failed to stop and rear-ended the Metamora resident, which in-turn rear-ended the Oxford man.
A 19-year-old woman from Metamora tried to avoid hitting the Dodge pick-up, but didn’t have time and hit that vehicle.
No one was seriously injured or had to be transported to the hospital.
The Oxford man driving the Dodge pick-up truck was cited for failing to stop in an assured distance.
