It was a busy day Saturday at the Oxford-Orion FISH food pantry in Thomas.
Volunteers unloaded and shelved a total of 16,200 pounds in non-perishable food items to be distributed to local individuals and families in need. All of the food was collected by mail carriers from the Oxford and Lake Orion Post Offices, whose generous customers made the donations.
According to outgoing Pantry Coordinator Val Cass, this year’s haul should last the pantry about two months. ? CJC
