Spring cleaning

Cub Scout Pack 499, parents, and Clarkston Rotarians filled a record-beating 76 bags of leaves and twigs at Depot Park, April 19. The previous record was 36 bags. The park clean-up is an annual event for the Cub Scouts and Rotary. The two-hour work session was followed by pizza and pop and a chance to enjoy the sunshine and the equipment at the park. Armed with rakes, brooms and leaf bags, the Cub Scout Pack 499 set off into the neighborhood to clean yards from fall leaves and debris from winter.
The Cubs from Pine Knob Elementary hit the house of Clarkston residents who couldn’t clean the yard themselves.
‘It’s worth all the hard work to see the smiling faces of the home owners,? said Noah Sampson.
With help from their parents, the Cubs cleaned three yards last Saturday morning.
They raked leaves, swept the driveways and picked up twigs and stray branches that had fallen during the snowy season.
