Yesterday marked the first day of spring, which means it’s time to plan the Spring Clean Up in Addison Township.
The township board unanamously approved March 12 that Waste Management will provide equipment for the clean up for the fourth year in a row on Saturday, May 12, from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the township complex (1440 Rochester Rd., Leonard).
Waste Management will provide two rearload compactor trucks to collect mixed solid waste and two rolloff containers for scrap steel and freon units.
Residents will be charged $20 for each freon unit they bring.
The Spring Clean Up is expected to cost the township $4,460, to which they have budgeted $5,000 from their Community Projects fund to pay for it.
Guidelines for the Spring Clean Up are as follows:
? Items that cannot be dropped off at the clean up are paint, oil, gasoline or any toxins.
? Refrigerators and air conditioners must be tagged properly. If they aren’t, a fee will be charged or the unit cannot be accepted.
? There is a tire limitation of four per household and only car and pick-up tires will be accepted.
? A valid drivers license must be presented at the drop off.
