The Varsity Volleyball team traveled down to Dragon country to prove their worth in a eight-team tournament at Lake Orion High School on Saturday, Sept. 11.
Oxford was able to finish third after they lost in the semifinal match in three games to tournament winner Farmington Mercy High School.
The Wildcats received offensive contributions from everyone who played.
Junior Kate Bailey finished with a team high 36 kills, while senior Casey Novak contributed 20 kills and senior Beth Downs added 15 kills for the Wildcats. Junior Lindsey Leppek led the middle hitters with 13 kills, while senior Tammy Toteff and junior Katie Bearse had 12 kills a piece. Senior Alex LaBarge had eight kills.
Senior Sara Neibor added 105 kill assists.
Oxford was led defensively by juniors Maggie Rourke and Olivia Krause, who combined for 68 digs.
The Wildcats began league play on Tuesday, traveling to Royal Oak and will host Southfield Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.
