The Oxford varsity girls volleyball team is hoping for a victory against Lapeer East on Thursday after two losses against Fenton and Brandon earlier this week.
At Fenton last Thursday, the Spikers were defeated 18-25, 19-25 and 16-25 for their first league loss of the season.
‘We weren’t able to get any momentum against them,? Coach Kristi McDevitt said. ‘We just didn’t bring our A-game.?
On a positive note, junior Karlyn Stroope had eight kills for the night.
At home on Monday, Oxford once again dropped a league game against Brandon, although they won their third match, 25-19.
In the fourth match of the evening, the girls had a 23-21 lead before letting the Blackhawks gain on them with four points to take the game.
Sophomore Brittany Moncrieff had 12 kills and Karlyn Stroope had 10 kills and four blocks.
Oxford’s record is now 3-2 in FML and 15-9-3 overall.
