Soccer benefit set to raise money for sprayground

In their continuing effort to raise funds for a Sprayground at Clintonwood Park, a soccer benefit is set for Saturday, June 14 at Avondale Meadows School in Rochester Hills.
The group is looking to build the Sprayground at Clintonwood Park in the memory Renee Przybylski. Przybylski is a former day camp counselor and Clarkston High School graduate who lost a battle with leukemia in December 2001.
Volunteers are attempting to raise more than $153,000 to construct the park.
The soccer benefit event is being hosted by the Michigan Gators – Metrostars Soccer Club and the Independence Township Parks and Recreation.
Rochester Hills resident Vicki Morrison was very moved when she learned about Przybylski and the Sprayground in her memory. Morrison has put on other benefits in the past and contacted the family and Independence Township Parks and Recreation to offer her assistance in helping to raise money for the Spraypark. All proceeds will benefit the Spraypark at Clintonwood.
Half the players participating are professional soccer players. Former Detroit Lions Safety Kurt Schultz will also be at the event.
The event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. at Avondale Meadows School which is located at 1435 W. Auburn Road between Crooks and Livernois in Rochester Hills.
The KSG Band, a group formed by Keenan George who passed away last summer, will also be providing entertainment at the event.
