‘Slam door on the ones going door to door for recall?

To the editor:
Seems like the village of Goodrich could use a break; first, an unneccessary recall may take place and extra spending again for another election. And then, MDOT turning the light on Hegel Road and M-15 back to flashing is another slap in the face. And after reading the article about the turtles in Grand Rapids where MDOT has chosen to spend $318,000 in federal funds to put up a fence designed to keep the turtles from road kill is ridiculous. MDOT has admitted that the design of M-15 is a bad design on that corner. The sight distance is only 3.7 seconds, and it should be 8 seconds. Since the light was placed there for the bridge repair, although with MDOT admitting the problems with the corner, it seems it would be in our best interest to keep it there.
I guess turtles mean more in Michigan, than our children who are riding school buses, and the bus drivers who play roulette every day getting off that corner to go back to the bus garage which is a block away. I guess since turtles are an endangered species, and human life isn’t, we may lose that light. I ask you all to call Mike Hemmingsen (810) 653-7470 and let him know that corner needs to keep that light and that human life is more important than turtle life. I have family and friends who live on that road, and I believe their lives are much more important. I cannot understand why Mr. Tankersley would be against keeping that light on that corner, he must not have friends or relatives who have to travel that area? And again, I ask the people in the village to slam the door on the ones going door to door for a recall, because the good old boys have kept their word, on taxes, and their oath on keeping the village health and safety and welfare. I know they are fighting to keep the light. Please call Mike also.
