Thirteen athletes between the boys and girls ski teams from Clarkston have been named to All-State teams. The Wolves recent personal accolades combined with both team’s lofty third place finish at the state finals, only further cements their powerhouse status.
‘It show how deep we are. A lot of schools have three good racers, we are pretty much six deep on both teams,? said Clarkston Coach Bruce Rosengren. ‘I was thrilled to see so many of our kids be recognized.?
Alex Rosengren was named first team All-State in both the slalom and giant slalom. Also on the boys side, Eric Weiland, Jeff Haladik and Kevin Vahlbusch were named to the second team in the slalom and third team All-State in the giant slalom.
Jennifer Stanton was named second team All-State in the slalom. Alyssa Vermeulen was also named to the third team in the slalom. Trisha Peters was named third team All-State in the giant slalom. Finishing out the awards for the girls was Erica Halsey and Mo Weiland who were both named honorable mention All-State.
The crowd Clarkston put on the All-State teams was second only to Marquette, with 17 skiers.
