Ski teams experience mixed results against Garber, Carman-Ainsworth

The Brandon-Oxford boys ski team split their matchups against Saginaw Garber and Carmen-Ainsworth Jan. 12 at Mt. Holly
Meanwhile, their female counterparts had an easier time of things, defeating Saginaw Garber and winning by forfeit against Carmen-Ainsworth.
The boys team lost to Saginaw Garber 32-41 and defeated Carmen-Ainsworth 35-38. Brandon’s Tim Smith led the team in the slalom with a time of 27.47, while Oxford’s Shawn Dean finished at 34.88.
In the giant slalom, Smith again led the charge with a time of 26.68, with Brandon’s Ryan Hotchkiss finishing at 36.72.
Against Garber, the Brandon-Oxford girls dominated both events. Oxford’s Karen Offer won the slalom (30.27), followed by Oxford’s Grace Auchterlonie (32.51), Brandon’s Lauren Bayliss (32.62) and Oxford’s Heather Tiffany (38.60).
In the giant slalom, Auchterlonie took first place (27.45), followed by Offer (27.76), Bayliss (27.89) and Tiffany (30.77).
The team returns to action Jan. 21 against Fenton.
