Lake Orion has great schools. Given. Love them. There are things that need repair in the schools. Given. Fix them.
Proposal A lowered the property tax years ago. Funding went to students not buildings. Given. However…School people/admin. knew that things would need repair. (Homeowners know this too).
Who was paying attention to that necessity? Why was it not in a longterm budget? It wasn’t going to go away with ignorance.
A boiler costs $20K. Get it. It’s needed.
A Sinking Fund for 10 years? NOT a given.
Who will be paying attention to what needs doing in 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years? No one was paying attention 10 years ago.
Why should we trust that you will use our tax dollars responsibly, since it appears that no one thought of this?
Have a plan, not an emergency fix. Lack of prior planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part.
Show us your fiscal responsibility now, and then the plan for 1, 2 5 and 10 years.
Fix what is totally necessary now. Then, layout a plan that we can see–the order of maintenance.
We are all watching how you spend our tax dollars responsibly. Given.
