Plenty of new businesses and lots of new homes have attracted a familiar name to Lake Orion. Sherwin-Williams Company opened a new store here in January.
The company was founded over a 100 years ago and has been supplying quality paints and painting supplies to people all over the country.
Whether you are a do-it-yourselfer or industry professional, Sherwin-Williams offers the quality products, services and advice you need to get your job done right.
The new store, located at 1158 Lapeer Road, has a large selection of exterior/interior latex or oil paints. You’ll find different kinds of paint for different applications.

Sherwin-Williams carries all the associated items that will make any project easier — wood stains; faux finishes; wallpaper, tools and equipment; spray guns for painting; ladders. The store also sells industrial painting applicators for factories.
‘This is a one-stop store. We want to sell the customer everything right here,? assistant manager Anthony Jacob says.
Wallpaper customers at Sherwin-Williams will love its online (www.decorating.com) ordering service. They will be able to access more than 10,000 wallpaper patterns and place an order. Deliveries go directly to the customer’s home.

Jacob believes Sherwin-Williams has been so successful over the years because of the quality of its paints. ‘Compare paints, you’ll find ours go on more smoothly,? he says.
Besides the quality of the paints, Jacob says Sherwin-Williams is different from other places that sell paint because of its one-on-one customer service.
‘We treat everyone like a guest,? he adds.
All Sherwin-Williams employees have intensive training on computers. They’re required to attend training seminars.
‘We’re all computer certified in product knowledge,? Jacob says. ‘And our register technology is up to date. Everything is on the computer now.?
As the Lake Orion store moves into its fourth month of operation, the biggest challenge it faces is acquiring new accounts. A Grand Opening is scheduled for April 9 and Jacob promises the store will have give-away and sale items.
Sherwin-Williams is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
