What better way to celebrate March is Reading Month than to celebrate one the most famous authors in history, Dr. Seuss, at Bailey Lake Elementary, March 26?
Bailey Lake Elementary awarded visitors lots of goodies and activities as people filled the halls in celebration at the free event in honor of Dr. Seuss.
The writer would have been 114 on March 2. His books, such as The Grinch, Green Eggs and Ham, The Lorax and the Cat in the Hat, are just a few of the reasons the colorful character is celebrated for his magic with words. Seuss, a poet and cartoonist, combined his talents to teach children.
During his lifetime, Theodor Seuss Geisel won two academy awards, two Emmy Awards, a Peabody award and a Pulitzer prize.
Kids, siblings and their families were able to follow along down the halls and partake in many activities and games. Visitors crafted goodies, got their face painted and were awarded entertainment from the Clarkston High School Mime Troop.
