Search firms considered by board

Brandon Twp.-The Brandon School Board announced last week that three superintendent search firms are under consideration in an effort to replace current Brandon Superintendent Bart Jenniches who announced his retirement last June. A new superintendent will be in place by July 1, 2005.
Represenitives from the Michigan Association of School Boards, Michigan Leadership Institute and TD Madison and Associates will be interviewed by board members Mark Mahaffy, Gina Muzzarelli and Beth Nuccio. The meetings will also be videotaped.
Brandon School Board President Beth Nuccio says the estimated cost of a superintendent search firm is about $17,500, but well worth the price.
‘This is the most critical decision this board will ever make,? said Nuccio. It’s important the right firm is selected. At least one firm will allow us to ?
Nuccio added that TD Madison and Associates was hired to select Jenniches in 1997 at a cost of about $12,000. The board will make a seach firm recomendation at the Nov. 8, school board meeting.
