Scout paints concession stand at park

Oxford High School student and Life Scout Michael Morski conducted a project with the help of Oxford Parks and Recreation this past weekend at Seymour Lake Park. Morski painted the concession stand as part of his efforts to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
According to Park Superintendent Jeff Kinasz, Morski was responsible and professional all the way through this project. Since beginning to organize for this project in early 2012, Kinasz said, Morski has been above board and resourceful.
Morski drummed up the paint and labor to complete the project, and met with Kinasz at several points through the year to consolidate and finalize plans. The finished project was perfect, with ‘not a drop of paint spilled,? Kinasz said.
Kinasz said that a project of this type is done ‘every couple of years? by the Eagle Scouts. Morski’s project was to paint the softball concession stand at Seymour Lake Park. These projects really help the staff at the park, said Kinasz, because they ‘really free us up to do other things and helps us out tremendously.?
According to David Morski, father of the young Eagle scout, Michael and his scouts are from Oxford Troop 108, chartered by the American Legion Post 108. Sherwin Williams, of Lake Orion, and Gentry’s Painting, of Oxford, provided the donations of paint and materials necessary to complete this project.
