Saroli wins special election

Goodrich-On Aug. 2, Goodrich voters elected Richard Saroli with 204 votes (58 percent) to serve the remainder of ousted village council president Patricia Wartella’s term in office. Candidate Greg Konkle received 123 votes (35 percent), Franklin First garnered 15 (4 percent) and Beth Sommers had 6 votes (1 percent). There are 1,313 voters registered in the village.
Saroli’s term, which will expire in November 2012, completes the five person village council. Saroli was appointed on June 13 to serve on the council until the Aug. 2 election.
‘There are 41 percent of the village voters that did not support me in this election’that’s the great thing about this country we all don’t have to agree. But, understand I will do my best to meet the needs and the best interests of the community. We will make progress and I’m working for everyone.?
The first task Saroli said is he, along with the council, will work to find a qualified village manager and work on an effective website so residents can keep up-to-date on meetings and village agendas.
