Rumourz Hair Salon in Lake Orion is hosting their fourth annual ‘Locks of Love? benefit on Feb. 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Rumourz is located at 183 N. Park Boulevard.
Free haircut and styling for anyone donating 10 inches or more of hair.
Free haircut and styling for those donating the cost of a haircut, and free styling for those who do not have 10 inches of hair to donate.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest ponytail.
Refreshments will be served, and certificates from Locks of Love will be given to each donor.
Locks of Love is a not-for-profit organization that provides recipients with a custom, vacuum-fitted hairpiece made entirely from donated human hair.
The vacuum fit is designed for children who have experienced a total loss of scalp hair.
It does not require the use of tape or glue.
Donated hair must meet these guidelines: At least 10 inches in length, bundled into a pony tail or braid.
Hair must be free of damage by chemical processing (No bleach, or recent perms).
Dyed hair is ok as long as it’s healthy. If you’re not sure, ask your stylist.
Monetary donations to Locks of Love are tax deductible.
