Robotics team paint dugouts

Goodrich- The high school robotics team took a break last weekend from their usual high-tech to-do list to make the world’or a least some dugouts’a little brighter.
Robotics mentor Lisa Hieber said her son, Phillip Starski, 16, came up with the idea to give the dugouts a fresh coat of paint while playing ball with his family at the Reid Elementary School ballfield.
‘He happened to notice there was graffiti on the dugouts and he thought that would be a nice community project to do,? said Hieber.
Starski presented the idea to the rest of the robotics team and found them to be enthusiastic about the project.
Several local shops donated paint for the project, including Brown’s Do-it Center on M-15 in Goodrich, which donated ten gallons of blue and yellow paint.
Approximately eight team members and four robotics mentors worked July 7-8 to get the job done.
