Dear editor:
The Relay for Life event in support of the American Cancer Society that took place last weekend was a great example of a community coming together for a wonderful cause. As business owners and residents in this community, we are very proud of our community (including the entire surrounding area) and we want to thank everyone who participated to make the Relay for Life event so successful. In our case, we lost our brother (in-law) Ray Fuller at the age of 49 to MDS, a rare form of blood cancer. All I can say is, after this event we have the feeling it was a very good way to remember him.
We were especially overwhelmed by the generous support of our customers during the months leading up to the Relay for Life. It was unbelievable to see the cans being filled daily with contributions from our customers, as well as our employees. We thank all of you for your kind donations that you allowed our team members to donate.
We would also like to send a special thanks to our Frosty Boy employees, as well as all of the young adults and children in our community who participated. You have contributed significant time and energy toward Relay for Life, as well as other activities in our community. You are all great examples of how the younger generation are learning and willing to take on responsibilities that involve giving back to the community.
David and Joanne King, Owners Frosty Boy of Ortonville
