Brandon Twp – On Sept. 10 Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 26-year-old Ortonville man for drunk driving in the McDonald’s on M-15.
Deputy Ken Wakerly observed the driver turn recklessly into the McDonald’s parking lot so the officer stopped him for questioning.
When approaching the car Deputy Wakerly noticed the man’s speech was slurred and could smell intoxicants. The driver admitted to drinking a couple of cocktails at Brandon’s Landing before being stopped.
While Deputy Wakerly was performing a LEIN check the man began to run from the officer, but fell a few feet from his car and was apprehended by a backup officer.
In addition to having a blood alcohol level of .13, Wakerly discovered the man was wanted on two separate warrants. The first, a felony warrant and the second for lack of child support.
The man was transported to Oakland County Jail.
