Christ the Redeemer Church, on Waldon Road, will host a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser on Saturday, April 19 from 7:30-10 p.m.
The event, ‘Raise a Glass to Raise a Roof,? will feature appetizers, wine, beer, desserts and a silent auction. Tickets are $25 each.
Christ the Redeemer is building a Habitat home this summer in Pontiac as part of The North Oakland Circle of Faith. This coalition consists of Lutheran, Presbyterian, Non-denominational, Methodist and Catholic churches in Ortonville, Waterford, Lake Orion, Oxford and Clarkston.
The cost to build a three-bedroom Habitat home is $92,000.
Several restaurants from Lake Orion and Oxford are donating appetizers or desserts for the evening, including Kruse and Muer, Carrie Lee’s, Mr. G’s, King’s Court, Christi’s Bar & Grill, Victoria’s Delights, Harvest Time, Trader Joe’s and Red Knapps.
The silent auction will feature a wide variety of items and services from many local businesses, including a suite at the Palace of Auburn Hills to see the Pistons in 2008-2009 (donated by the Palace) and NASCAR tickets to the Michigan International Speedway.
Live music will be provided by Alyssa Schwartz, and the evening will be emceed by State Rep. Jim Marleau (R-Lake Orion).
