Underage partier
Lake Orion police cited an 18-year-old Oxford woman for minor in possession of alcohol. Officers discovered the girl while responding to complaints of a loud party on S. Broadway around 1:30 a.m., Monday, April 26.

Skaters put out
A phone call from firefighters at Station #1 reporting skateboarders blocking their entrance ended with a visit from Lake Orion police officers, around 5:40 p.m., April 26. According to the report, the skateboarders were asked to leave, but didn’t until police arrived.

Pooch loose
For the second time in a month, a Lake Orion man was cited for allowing his dog to run loose. Officers found the dog near Central and Bridge Streets, recognized it, and brought the animal to its owner, Tuesday, April 27, around 4:30 p.m., and ticketed the man.

Pet pets, not ducks
Two teens were warned about scaring the ducks in Paint Creek when officers responded to reports of a 17-year-old Clarkston girl and a 16-year-old Lake Orion girl trying to catch them with a fishing net. The girls said they just wanted to ‘pet the ducks.? The incident occurred around 6:35 p.m., April 27.

‘Script snatched
An elderly Lake Orion man phoned police to report his prescription medication had been taken out of the mail, Thursday, April 29. Officers checked with the Lake Orion post office and confirmed the report. The medications were not narcotics, according to the report, but were needed for the man’s health.

False funds
Lake Orion police are looking into an incident involving a Warren resident and a local credit union. According to the report, the 54-year-old Warren man opened a checking account then wrote nine checks totaling $4,000 against the account, without having the available funds.

Don’t play with guns
Two juveniles were taken into custody after wielding firearms in the village, at 8 p.m., April 29. Lake Orion police got concerned phone calls that evening, reporting youth in Paint Creek shooting ducks and each other. The guns turned out to be realistic-looking Airsoft weapons, possession of which is against village ordinances. Officers confiscated a total of four weapons, two from a 15-year-old township boy and two from a 15-year-old village girl. The youth said their intention was to ‘scare some kids? with the weapons.

Keyed up
A woman on Elizabeth Street reported someone had ‘keyed? her vehicle to Lake Orion police, Friday, April 30. According to the report, this isn’t the first time someone has damaged the resident’s or a guest’s vehicle at that address.

Neighbors keep watch
A resident on Newton called police, April 30, to report suspicious activity at a vacant home in the neighborhood. According to the report, a screen had been removed and a trash can placed under one of the home’s windows. Officers checked the home and found nothing inside to cause alarm.

Check didn’t check out
Saturday, May 1, a Newton resident reported getting a check in the mail that didn’t belong to her. Police suspect the check is part of a mail scam.

Call a taxi
Sunday, May 2, Lake Orion police arrested a newly-turned 21-year-old man from Birch Run for operating while intoxicated at M-24 and Atwater. According to the report, the man was driving northbound on M-24 and stopped for the traffic light at the intersection. The light however was blinking yellow, at 2:10 a.m., the time of the incident. Officers observed the vehicle and approached, asking if the car had broken down. The man said no, and that he was stopped for the light. Officers said they could smell the strong odor of intoxicants. They also reported a woman passed out in the passenger seat, covered in her own vomit. The man was taken into custody. His blood alcohol level was .18. This was his first offense, though charges for s similar offense are pending in Sanilac County.

Alleged assault
A 26-year-old Bellevue man was arrested after allegedly assaulting both his mother and father. The man is still in custody and is not bondable until after arraignment. The incident occurred May 2.

Not so special
A man living in the 700 block of Woodside Court called police April 25 after discovering a ‘K? had been scratched into several locations on his vehicle overnight. According to police reports, the same type incident has occurred several times.

Cashed out
A business in the 200 block of Clarkston Road called police April 26 after discovering more than $600 missing from a cash drawer.

Good boy
Orion deputies dispatched to Starling Hill Drive April 26 employed a K9, brought to the scene by an Independence Township deputy, to track and assist a disturbed 21-year-old woman after a dispute in her home.

But I’m from Jersey!
A 26-year-old man arrested and jailed on drunk driving charges April 23 told police he lives in New Jersey and isn’t used to driving a car. The man was pulled over after the deputy clocked him doing 68 m.p.h. in a 50 zone’and crossing into the left lane of opposing traffic’on Silverbell Road around 12:30 a.m. The man blew an initial PBT of .14.

Why?
A man living on Gregory Road called police April 23 after someone threw a rock and smashed out a front window in his home. The man told police he’s had similar trouble before, when someone shot BBs at the window.
