Orion Twp. man arrested after allegedly assaulting, threatening to kill his sister
An Orion Township man was arrested and is facing two counts of domestic violence after allegedly assaulting a family member who wanted him to get into rehab.

Deputies went to home on Feb. 6 on Swallow Court for a domestic assault and spoke with a 50-year-old Orion Township woman who said she was talking with her brother about him going into rehab when an argument broke out.

The altercation turned physical when the 47-year-old Orion Township man grabbed the victim by the arms and threw her to the floor. He then reportedly told her that he was going to kill her.

Based on statements made by both parties, and observations of the deputies, the man was arrested and taken to the Oakland County Jail.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office authorized the complaint for two counts of Domestic Violence Third Offense.

The suspect was arraigned on the charges and given a $30,000, 10 percent cash bond. He remains in custody at the Oakland County Jail.

 

Couple recounts cash, pays less than half of bill

Deputies went to Old Navy, 4806 S. Baldwin Rd., at 1:57 p.m. Feb. 9 after a couple paid less than half of their bill and left the clothing retail store.

An employee told deputies that a man and a woman entered the store and selected several pieces of clothing, placing them into a bag. The two then went to the checkout and told the clerk that they would be paying with all twenties.

As the clerk was attempting to count the cash the two began to ask a lot of questions and then the customer requested to count the money.

After the couple left the store, the cashier re-counted the cash and determined that the couple only paid less than half of the bill.

Pontiac man allegedly assaults car wash employee

Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for a Pontiac man who allegedly assaulted an employee after the suspect was asked to leave the business.

Deputies went to Tommy’s Car Wash, 861 Brown Rd., at 3:02 p.m. Feb. 11 for an assault complaint.
A 19-year-old employee told deputies that he observed a customer who was extremely upset while waiting in the line. As he approached the customer the man began screaming at the employee. The employee said that due to the customer’s behavior he asked the customer to leave the car wash.

The customer then exited his vehicle, approached the employee and shoved him and then punched him in the face. The suspect then left the carwash.

Deputies were unable to locate the suspect, a 25-year-old Pontiac resident. Detectives are investigating.

 

Oxford man dies of suspected heroin use at Orion Twp. motel

An Oxford man has died of suspected heroin use and a medical examiner is performing an autopsy.
Deputies went to Red Roof Inn, 2755 Lapeer Rd., at 4:13 a.m. Feb. 11 for check on a tenant who was allegedly “smoking heroin,” an incident report stated.

Deputies located a 60-year-old Oxford man in a room. The man was unresponsive and deputies attempted CPR and life-saving techniques but were unsuccessful in reviving the man.

Orion Township firefighters arrived on scene and continued life-saving techniques but were unable to save the man. Paramedics sent telemetry to McLaren Hospital, where a physician pronounced the man deceased.

Deputies found used syringes in the room near the deceased man. Detectives and an investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and began their respective investigations.

The Medical Examiner took custody of the deceased and scheduled an autopsy.
