VILLAGE OF LAKE ORION
PUBLIC NOTICE
THE VILLAGE OF LAKE ORION WATER DEPARTMENT CONDUCTS A PROGRAM OF FLUSHING ALL DEAD-ENDS OF THE VILLAGE WATER SYSTEM.
THE FLUSHING PROGRAM IS PERFORMED TWICE A YEAR, ONCE IN THE SPRING AND ONCE IN THE FALL BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 4:00 A.M. AND 3:30 P.M. THE SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:
MAY 18, 2016
OCTOBER 19, 2016
Flushing is necessary for proper maintenance of the water system. During this time, customers of the Village Water System may experience low water pressure. Also, the flushing of the water mains may loosen sediment in the system, which in turn may end up at the user end point, which is your faucet.
Customers are urged to check water clarity before using it for laundry or other similar uses. If you experience rusty to black colored water, flush your water lines with either a washtub faucet or a bathtub faucet for 10 minutes or until the water is clear. Small faucets will clog if used. Flushing your system will clear out any sediment which has made its way to your home.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
