PUBLIC NOTICE
SYNOPSIS OF ADOPTED ORDINANCE
Ordinance 6.18 –
Human Rights Ordinance
At its Regular Meeting of September 26, 2016, the Lake Orion Village Council accepted for second reading and adopted Ordinance No. 6.18, Human Rights Ordinance, an Ordinance to amend Title XIII, GENERAL OFFENSES, Chapter 130 of the Code of the Village of Lake Orion, entitled OFFENSES AGAINST VILLAGE REGULATIONS, to add new sections 130.101 through 130.110, titled “Human Rights”.
The effect of this Ordinance is to establish regulations for the prevention of discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations by prohibiting discrimination based on actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, height, weight, condition of pregnancy, marital status, physical or mental limitation, source of income, family status, sexual orientation or gender identity, and to provide remedies for violations of this ordinance.
This Ordinance is effective upon the publication of this synopsis. The complete text of the Ordinance is on file in the office of the Village Clerk located at 21 E.
