Local police, fire and EMS personnel go above and beyond for Clarkston and surrounding communities. Now, plans for celebration in their honor are well underway.
Clarkston Health Center, Sunrise Senior Living and community partners are coordinating ‘Salute to Safety,? a safety and wellness event on June 4.
‘We are looking forward to promoting safety,? said Marie Bristow, Clarkston Health Center. ‘We just want to encourage everyone to practice safety.?
The goal of the event is to promote and encourage safety throughout the community; salute and thank our local police, fire and EMS personnel; and donate net proceeds from the event to the Clarkston Philanthropic Endeavor for placements of AED’s (Automatic External Defibrillator) through the community.
‘We chose to donate AED’s because we wanted something that these local personnel have their hands around,? said Bristow. ‘AED can save lives and the personnel all support it.?
The event will offer activities including: child fingerprinting, smokehouse encounter, kids? safety relay and playground safety, AED demonstrations, choking education and more. Entertainment will include live music, a magician, dance troops, gymnastic teams, face painting and a barbershop quartet.
The event is free to the public and does have sponsorship levels ? Event Sponsors are $500 and Activity Sponsors are $175.
Event Sponsor level includes: logo on all event sponsor signs, logo on volunteer t-shirts, appreciation ad in The Clarkston News & Penny Stretcher next to the Ernie Harwell article, plaque of appreciation, and acknowledgment during salute ceremony.
