Poker tourney for SplashPad needs players

Various local clubs, in conjunction with Oxford Township Parks & Recreation, will host a charity Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament on Friday, Feb. 29 at Boulder Pointe to benefit the proposed $390,000 SplashPad to be built this summer.
The SplashPad will make its home at Seymour Lake Twp. Park, and the Oxford Rotary, Lions and Kiwanis clubs are adament on making that happen.
The poker tournament will begin promptly at 6 p.m., with registration beginning at 5 p.m. Those wanting to secure a spot in the tournament and 50/100 cash games, along with food, drinks, hourly raffle, silent auction and a 50/50 raffle can purchase a $200 Player’s Pass.
The cost for a ‘social ticket? (Splash Pass) including all the aforementioned, except an entry into the poker tournament and cash games, is $40 per person and $70 per couple. The cost of a ticket may be tax deductible.
Providing the event is sold out, winnings for first place is $5,000, second place is $3,000, and third place is $1,000.
Those interested can pay via cash, major credit card, or a check made payable to the Kiwanis Club of Oxford-Orion.
Fifty-four players have signed up so far, and there can be up to 200. Players interested in participating can sign up at the door, unless the quota is filled.
