This Saturday, Aug. 25, Good Times in Goodrich is back and promises another year of good food and family fun.
Hundreds are expected to gather in downtown Goodrich to watch the parade, enjoy a band or two, and visit with the locals. The array of entertainment also includes an all-day craft show, marketplace vendors, and walking tour of the cemetery.
The main attraction for those in attendance is the Technology Petting Zoo sponsored by the Genesee District Library. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Goodrich Librarian Meagan Brown will be on hand with an interactive display featuring a variety of mobile devices such as the Kindle, Nook, and Smartphone. The petting zoo gives locals a chance to be hands-on with the newest technology while promoting the importance of reading. These devices can all be used to access the library’s popular downloadable book and music services.
New this year will be amusement rides provided by Schmidt Amusements located in the parking lot near the bus garages and Reid Elementary. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the rides will be ready for those seeking a thrill.
The Village of Goodrich Flag Area Dedication is also a new addition to Good Times in Goodrich.
