Wrestlers triumphed over foes to take first place at the second Annual Oakland County Wrestling Tournament.
Clarkston Junior High scored 240 points on March 13. It was twenty points more than second place Waterford Pierce Middle School. Pontiac finished in third with 195 points.
‘The guys wrestled great,? said Andy Auten, head wrestling coach at Sashabaw Middle School. ‘Most of the experienced guys placed and we had a few first year guys step up and make the finals.?
Wrestlers from Sashabaw Middle School placed in four weight classes.
Dekote Ramsey took first in 75-pound, D.J. Zezula, second in 125-pound, Josh Cohoon, third in 152-pound, and Andrew Myers, fourth in 115-pound.
Eleven wrestlers from Clarkston Junior High place in the top four. Ethan Lisewski (80), Greg Miller (100), Cameron Wilkie (115), Steve Franco (145) and Alec Sisk (152) finished as champions in their respectable weight classes.
Brett Foltz (95), Jason McCowen (120), and Ian Ericksen (130) took second place.
Jake Dionne (110) finished in third place and Nick Morey (135) and Caine Watlington (140) finished in fourth.
