Pine Tree hosts special night out for parents, raises funds for school

It was parents that filled the gym on the evening of Nov. 7, as Pine Tree Elementary hosted Parents Night Out.
According to PTO vice president Michelle Moran, this is a yearly event that Pine Tree PTO hosts and this year’s third annual event featured the biggest vendor turnout. Over 30 vendors attended the event.
Parents were able to roam around child-free (as Pine Tree third grade teacher Mr. Martin entertained kids in his room), and check out the various items that vendors offered, including jewelry, beauty items, kitchen utensils, candles, photography and much more. Market Day donated free samples that parents could snack on and try.
According to Moran, each vendor purchased a table and admission into the event was $1 each for parents, and all the money raised goes back to the school.
‘This is just another way to make money so we can support teachers, school and family,? she said, noting that money the PTO raises helps go towards funding special items in classrooms that teachers can use to supplement their lesson plans.
