Brandon Twp.- Police said on Tuesday they will seek a warrant for telephone records of a Groveland Township resident who may have received calls from a missing township girl.
The warrant comes after Ashley Wolfe, 15, a high school freshman who has been missing since Oct. 22, allegedly called the Groveland Township home and spoke with a youth and her grand- mother in late November. Since then no contact with Wolfe has been reported, say police.
‘There’s no guarantee the phone calls will lead to anything,’said Detective Arnie Terrell, of the Oakland County Sheriff’s department and Brandon schools police liaison officer.
‘She (Ashley) did not contact her family at Christmas time or New Year’s’it’s disappointing.?
Police have been searching for Wolfe, who had lived with her grandparents for a few years until new rules including a curfew had upset her, possibly prompting her to run away.
Since her disappearance, Wolfe has written one letter home, been spotted by a Brandon bus driver and has been in contact with at least one friend.
‘For several reasons we don’t expect foul play,? says Terrell. ‘Ashley needs to call me on the phone and I’ll explain her options.?
Ashley Wolfe is 4 feet 10 inches tall, has black hair which may have been dyed strawberry blonde and brown eyes. Any information regarding Ashley call (248) 240-1072; (248) 343-3908 or (248) 627-3856.
