Brandon High School will honor Pfc. Joseph A. Miracle, a 2003 graduate and captain of the 2002 varsity football team, who died on July 5 in the Watapor Valley of Kunar Providence, Afghanistan, at 6:30, Oct. 19 at the home football game.
The ceremony will be conducted by military veterans, including a 21-gun salute and Taps. Wrist bands will be sold to raise funds for a permanent memorial. Current players, along with Joe’s former teammates, will offer the commemorative wrist bands for a suggested donation of $5. Also, a special trust fund has been established at Oxford Bank. Donations will also be recieved at the Brandon fire halls, as well as the Real Estate One office, 875 S. Ortonville Road.
