The varsity volleyball team has resurfaced after their winless slump.
On Feb. 12, the ladies won against Linden 15-13 and 15-3. Sophomore Mykala Salquist led defensively with four blocks and seven digs. Co-Captain Lindsey Tarrant had 10 kills and 12 digs, while Co-Captain Brandi Parker had six kills, five service points and 13 assists.
Against Lapeer West on Feb. 16, the Lady Cats lost the open match 4-15, but won the last two 15-7 and 15-9. The same three ladies once again led Oxford’s attack: Tarrant had 11 kills and 16 digs, Parker had seven kills and seven assists, and Salquist had seven blocks.
The team now stands 8-4 in the Flint Metro League and 23-7-4 overall.
“We have a bit of a break now, but we go head to head with Lapeer East at East on Feb. 19,” said Coach Kristi McDevitt.
