Oxford man hit by car while riding bike

A 39-year-old Oxford man is in serious condition at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital after being hit by a drunken driver on Lakeville Rd. last Wednesday night.
The accident occurred around 6:42 p.m. on westbound Lakeville Rd. at Chinkapin Rill, when a 50-year-old Oxford man driving a 2004 Ford Expedition hit the 39-year-old as he was riding his bike.
According to the sheriff’s report, witnesses said the man didn’t stop after hitting the man on the bicycle, but came back to the scene a few moments later.
The man had ‘blood shot and glassy? eyes, and said he ‘saw a man on a bicycle and the next thing he knew, the man was laying on the windshield of his vehicle.?
The man admitted to the deputy that he had been drinking and his blood alcohol content was .22 percent.
He was then arrested for operating while intoxicated and taken to North Oakland Medical Center for medical clearance before being transported to the Oakland County Jail.
