OVA to call shopping center home

It’s official.
The Oxford Virtual Academy is moving into the Oxford Marketplace shopping center.
The Oxford Board of Education approved a three-year lease agreement for 176 and 178 S. Washington Street at its May 8 meeting.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources Nancy Latowski, the cost of the lease is $2,400 per month along with a $1,128 ‘triple net fee? per month for a total of $3,528.
‘Triple net fees include a proportionate share of the (property) tax, insurance and maintenance charges,? Latowksi explained.
She also noted that the space will be modified to create two classrooms, additional bathrooms and office space. These changes are currently in the design phase.
‘The cost will be in the approximate range of $200,000,? Latowski said. ‘We will be using existing furniture, so there will be no additional costs for furniture.?
