After several months of searching, the Orion Township Public Library has hired Chase McMunn as the new director.

McMunn is a Michigan native, who grew up in Jackson.

He currently serves as Assistant Director for the County of San Luis Obispo Library in California, where he has served since 2015.

Prior to the County of San Luis Obispo Library, he served as a Community Library Manager of Topanga and Malibu Libraries for the County of Los Angeles Library from 2011 to 2014.

McMunn also served as a Teen Services Librarian and Adult Services Librarian at the East Los Angeles Library and La Crescenta Library, respectively from 2008 to 2011.

He received his Master of Library and Information Science from UCLA in 2008 and his BA in History from University of Michigan in 2004.

McMunn replaces Karen Knox who held the position of director for nine years before she resigned earlier this year. — M.K.
