SYNOPSIS, REGULAR MEETING MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2021
Called meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. All Members present.
Held Closed Executive Session to discuss Attorney Opinion and Purchase of Property.
Reconvened the regular meeting at 7:02 p.m.
Invocation given by Pastor Josh Yates, River Church. All rose for Pledge of Allegiance.
Approved payment of bills in the amount of $ $1,056,662.78 and payrolls of $566,351.40
Total disbursement of funds of $1,623,014.18.
Approved Agenda, as amended. Approved Consent Agenda, as amended.
Approved Minutes, Public Hearing – CDBG FY 2022 Annual Application, November 15, 2021,
as presented.
Approved Minutes, Regular Meeting, November 15, 2021, as corrected.
Adopted Planning Commission Meeting Dates 2022, as presented.
Adopted Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting Dates 2022, as presented.
Set Orion Township Holiday Closing 2022, as presented.
Authorized the Fire Department to sign agreement with Fire Catt Precision Testing for annual
hose and ladder testing for the next three years.
Authorized the Fire Department to award the bid for medical and fitness evaluations for the fire
personnel to Bio-Care Inc., 1778 Holloway Drive, Suite A, Holt, Michigan, 48842.
Authorized the 2022 membership in the Clinton River Watershed Council and the payment of
$3,000 in annual dues.
Postpone the second reading of the Township initiated text amendment to Zoning Ordinance 378,
Industrial Park (IP), Article 18, Section 18.01 – land uses to the Monday December 20,
2021 Board meeting.
Adopted the updates to the Parks & Recreation Facility Rental Fees, as presented.
Approved Temporary Sign Fee Waiver Request – Orion Lighted Parade.
Approved the modifications to Ordinance 41, Review Fees effective January 1, 2022.
Received and filed the amended Planning & Zoning applications.
Set the public hearing on the General Motors, LLC Application for Industrial Facilities Tax
Exemption Certificate for Monday, December 20, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. and directed the
Clerk to publish in the Tuesday December 7, 2021 edition of The Oakland Press.
Authorized the Fire Department to purchase (1) Sutphen Custom Pumper for a total delivered vehicle sales price, with options of $604,788.56 from Apollo Fire Equipment, 12584 Lake shore Dr., Bruce Township, Michigan 48065.
Adopted resolution authorizing the sale of approximately three acres of Township vacant land to KPMF USA, Inc., for the purchase price of $270,000 and authorized the Township Supervisor and attorney to make necessary minor changes to the Agreement, and authorized Township Supervisor and Clerk to sign all necessary closing documents.
Approved the purchase of 09-29-326-021/022 in the amount not to exceed $150,000 with funds from General Fund’s Fund Balance (proceeds from property sale to KPMF USA, Inc.) and authorized Budget Director to make budget adjustments. If purchase happens in 2022 approve purchase of parcel
09-29-326-021/022 not to exceed $150,000.

Received and filed Police and Fire reports, as presented.
Received and filed the Property Tax Apportionment 2021 Updated Pie Chart, as presented.
Received and filed the Notice – Online Public Auction – Orion Township Hall Furnishings.
