Orion Township welcomes Fall with Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest begins with the letters ‘ok? but the event was much more of a hit than that.
Held on Oct 5 and 7, the three day event drew thousands to the 21-acre grounds of Canterbury Village at 2369 Joslyn Court. ‘Attendance was double that of last year’s event,? said Frances Smither-Fischer, Director of Club Affairs for Indianwood Golf and Country Club.
Visitors were treated to carnival rides for the kids, German foods, music and traditional dress for the connoisseurs , and over 60 beers from a plethora of microbreweries and beer companies around the country to sample.
When mouths weren’t drinking, eating, or singing, they certainly were smiling.
This was the first year for the Kroger and CBS radio-sponsored Sunday beer event– but definitely not the last. Cheers and Prost!
