Orion topples the Titans, readies for the Eagles

The Dragons opened their 2012 playoff run with a crushing defeat over the Titans from Stevenson last Friday.
The game started slow for both teams, but by the end of the first quarter the Dragons opened the scoring with a touchdown.
The second quarter saw the Titan offense stumble and fall flat as the Dragons put more points on the board and by the half, Lake Orion was up 21-0.
The second half did not halt the slaughter, as the Dragons continued to halt the Titan offense while scoring on their own.
With the final 20 seconds left, junior Dragon second string quarterback Kyle Bell took a knee and the game was over, 35-0.
Lake Orion’s offense was on fire and gained a combined 468 yards to Stephenson’s 156.
Senior starting quarterback Derek DeLaura was in top form and complete seven of his eight pass attempts for 222 yards and three touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Chaz Miller again led in receiving, with senior Jeremy King (42 yards) and junior Corey Ester (38 yards) following behind.
Junior short back Zach Arnold led the rushing with 85 yards and was followed by Ester who had 63 yards, senior Jacob Miller with 45 yards and junior Dominick Giovinazzo with 34 yards. Lake Orion has 246 yards rushing.
Next up for the Dragons are the Eagles of Utica Eisenhower. The team is now 8-2. The Dragons are 9-1.
