Orion Art Center to host two Friday concerts

It won’t be just visual art that will fill the Orion Art Center on Feb. 22 and 29, as the art center is hosting a concert featuring local musicians Carl Zoolkoski and Phyllis Bengry.
According to OAC Director Reggie Harrison, the concert will feature a collection of Zoolkoski and Bengry’s new original works, as well as some favorite cover songs.
The duo has been playing together for several years and has produced two CD’s ? ‘The Comet,? which benefited the Steven J. Crowder Memorial Fund, and ‘As the Snow Falls,? a collection of original and traditional Christmas music, Harrison said. Both CD’s are still available for purchase.
Zoolkoski and Bengry are also collaborating on an album of new material that will be released this summer.
Zoolkoski, a teacher at Oakview Middle School, also sings at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The concert will be held Friday, Feb. 22 and 29 from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person, and proceeds benefit the Joan Brace Scholarship Program. Space is limited, and tickets can be reserved by calling the art center at (248)693-4986 or can purchased while they last at the door.
‘Don’t miss this opportunity to hear some great music by these passionate artists,? Harrison added.
The Orion Art Center is located in downtown Lake Orion at 115 South Anderson.
