Goodrich’From on-board to on-line’Jan’s Sport Shop is going to change this fall. After more than 30 years in town, Jan’s, 7285 State Road (M-15), will now host an on-line auction at their location just north of the village. The local company will continue to offer boat service and parts at the same site.
Large items such as boats, trucks and cars to slot machines or smaller merchandise will be stored at the Goodrich location and may be inspected by perspective customers during the week. Then, once a month, buyers can log on to repocast.com and bid on the item. Once a winning price is determined customers can pick up the merchandise the next day.
‘We used to auction our boats at the end of the season,? said Tim Zirnhelt, manager. ‘So we contacted the company in Byron Center that helped sell our new boats and they got us started.?
‘We’ll start off bidding just once a month then increase to weekly. Hopefully this new aspect of our business will be a big shot in the arm to the Goodrich area.?
‘Jan’s Sport Shop in not going out of business’we’re going to stay right here. We’ll still offer boat service and parts’just no longer sell new boats.?
Jan’s Sport Shop has been at the Goodrich location since 1976 and in the area since 1968.
