‘Old school? pizza from longtime LO residents

Though under new ownership, Nick’s Pizza and Catering still adds a topping of tradition on its pies.
‘We’re bringing back old school pizza in a new way,? said new owner Scott Lindauer who runs the pizza place with his future wife, Angela Wright.
Tucked inside Lake Orion’s Complete Party Shoppe, new Nick’s has a slant on a competitor’s promotion: you can walk out with a ready-made, one topping pizza for not $5, but $4.50.
According to Lindauer, the combination party store and pizza joint has been in Lake Orion for forty years.
Lindaver and Wright are also longtime Lake Orion residents–their whole lives, in fact.
Lindauer has been in the restaurant business for years, and at one time ran Nick’s. Now, he’s back.
‘This is a family town,? he said. ‘Everything is homemade. The pies here are awesome.?
Wright said that there delivery range is quite large.
‘We’ve got hometown kids delivery hometown pizzas,? she said.
But pizzas not the only thing on the menu. Nick’s also offers up subs, calzones, salads, wings, chicken and pastas. They also custom cater school functions, birthdays and other parties.
But pizza is still tops here. Just don’t look for the new style conveyor pizza ovens most chains have, Lindauer said.
‘We use brick ovens,? he said. ‘We’re the new old school pizza.?
