Old camp now Star Bluff

Groveland Twp.-For many summers Girl Scouts gathered at Camp Narrin located on the banks of Narrin Lake just off Grange Hall Road and west of Bird Road.
Now sounds of youth have been replaced by the roar of heavy construction equipment as earlier this spring work started on development of the 200 acre Star Bluff project on the same grounds as the old camp.
An official from St. Dennis Development of Southfield said that construction on some of the proposed 78 homes could begin this fall. The average selling price will be about $450,000.
‘This is a low impact development,? said Tom St. Dennis, company director and president of Sterling Bank and Trust of Southfield.
‘We’ve kept this property as natural as possible, with about six lakefront lots. Along with the help of the township we’ve also preserved an extra 20 acres of trees within the development.?
St. Dennis said the entrance to the development was relocated about 70 feet to the east of the original site. The Road Commission for Oakland County also required additional clearing and excavation for a deceleration lane on the south side of Grange Hall Road.
‘The traffic count on Grange Hall Road continues to increase which required an improved sight distance,? said St. Dennis. ‘We’ll make the frontage along Grange Hall Road into a rustic look which will include boulders’it’ll be beautiful.?
St. Dennis Development’s other Southeastern Michigan projects include: Caribou Creek Estates and Cranberry Lake Meadows, White Lake, Forest Ridge Estates, Clarkston, Hartland Lakes Estates, Hartland, Heritage Pond, Fenton and Riverview Meadows, Waterford.
