A Lake Orion Village Police officer ran towards Stone, and Stone fled on Ferguson to Conklin, then onto Harding and into the nearby woods. The OCSD conducted a foot pursuit of Stone into the woods of Bald Mountain, as Stone headed into the swamp.
The OCSD Aviation Unit assisted by providing a helicopter to help search for Stone, and a canine officer and canine were deployed into the woods to track him. Stone fled about 2:10 p.m.; according to the OCSD report, he was apprehended at 4:50 p.m.
