Jackie Jidas has been hired as the new program coordinator, a part-time position, for the Orion Senior Center.
The Orion Township Board accepted the recommendation of deputy supervisor Jill Verros to hire Jidas for 20 hours per week, at a pay rate of $12 per hour. The position is contract, with no benefits.
Jidas? hiring was effective Dec. 7, and her primary duties will be to provide planning and coordination of major phases of program development, under the senior center director, for older persons, including education, creative arts, recreation, advocacy, leadership, employment, health/wellness, nutrition, social, social work, sports and exercise.
