New principal at Reid Elementary

Goodrich-By a 7-0 vote on Monday night the board of trustees approved Christy Flowers as the new principal at Reid Elementary School. She replaces Beth Zeto who is now director of student services, curriculum and federal programs in the district.
. Reid Elementary includes grades kindergarden through second.
‘I am excited to return to the Goodrich School District,? said Flowers. ‘I look forward to reconnecting with former colleagues and students as well as meeting my new students. I’m ready to hit the ground running. We have an amazing staff at Reid Elementary and I’m confident our students will have a fantastic school year.?
Flowers earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Flint and a master’s degree from Oakland University.
Flowers began her career in education as a fourth grade student teacher at Oaktree Elementary School and later taught in the resource room at Oaktree as a long-term substitute. She moved to Reid Elementary to teach first grade before moving on to Davison Schools as a second grade teacher and literacy specialist.
Christy and husband Dave have been married for 25 years and have three daughters: Brittany, a junior at Saginaw Valley State University, Kyra, a freshman at Bowling Green State University and Anna, a senior at Davison High School.
