Mystery Dinner set to raise money for Independence Library

The Friends of the Independence Township Library are preparing for another Mystery Dinner to raise funds for the library.
The performance this year is once again being written by Linda Van Natta and Bruce Bishop. It is a murder mystery where the audience needs to figure out the killer.
“It is always a lot of fun and a good time,” Van Natta said. “There is a lot of improv going on with the general plot.”
There are a total of 16 actors participating in the production including members of the Clarkston Village Players and students from Holly High School.
“This year is going to be the absolute best,” Friends of the Library member Carolyn Place said. “It gets better every year. We always receive a lot of positive feedback on the night.”
The Friends of the Library are once again looking to sell out the hall which will accommodate 120 individuals.
The Friends of the Library raised more than $10,000 last year for the Independence Township Library.
“The money goes to needs of the library,” Place said. “Molly Lynch (library director) gives us her wish list and we try to help any way we can.”
The event takes place on Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall located at 8047 Ortonville Rd. Tickets are $20 and available at the Independence Township Library. To receive more information contact Carolyn Place at (248) 625-2390 or Mary Hresco at (248) 625-9132.
