Motel owner found guilty

The former owner of the Lakeshore Motel in Lake Orion will spend some time in jail.
A jury in March found James Tuohy, 61, guilty of breaking into and illegally entering one of his own motel rooms without permission.
The incident took place last July. A complaint filed by two female victims claimed Tuohy was outside their window listening to them while they were having an intimate encounter.
They said they then heard him unlock their door and enter their bedroom.
Tuohy’s sentencing takes place May 27. He could receive up to 90 days in jail and/or $500 in fines.
According to LO Police Chief Jerry Narsh, the motel is under new ownership. He’s done a fabulous job cleaning up the motel. ‘We’ve hardly had to respond there now; once it was almost daily,? he said.
‘During Touhy’s ownership, we received numerous calls, usually from female tenants. But none would come in (until now) and make a police report.?
