The Girls Varsity Track Team continued its strong start to the season by defeating Lapeer East 89-48 this past week. Meanwhile, the boys suffered their first loss of the young season, losing by five to Lapeer East 71-66.
The girls finished first in 13 of 17 events, while the boys finished first in 12 of the 17 events.
The Individual results are as follows:
The girls 3200 meter relay of Brie Barry, Olivia Hernandez, Claire Wolanin and Megan Seeley finished first with a time of 11:11; the boys 3200 meter team of Spencer Britt, Mark Hurrish, Chase Tucker and Anthony Cappuccilli finished first with a time of 8:50.73.
In the 110 meter hurdles, Wildcat Katie Wolanin finished first for the girls and Aaron Stuk finished first for the boys.
The 100 meter dash saw Keeona Ives and Mike Stumph take first place for the Wildcats.
Shannon Seeley and Britt took home first place honors for the Wildcats in the 1600 meter run.
The 400 meter relay teams of Katherine Bosetti, Molly Bonfiglio, Kara Charles and Ives as well as Stuk, Tim Bachner, Dennis Brown and Stumph took home first place for the Wildcats.
In the 400 meter dash, Megan Seeley and Daniel Peck took home the top honors for the Wildcats.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Wildcats Wolanin and Stuk captured first place.
The 800 meter run saw Shannon Seeley and Cappuccilli bring home first place finishes for the Wildcats.
Ives brought home a first place finish in the 200 meter dash, and Jillian Walker brought home another first place finish for the girls in the 3200 meter run.
The Wildcats 1600 meter relay of Wolanin, Megan and Shannon Seeley and Hannah George finished first.
Amanda Lewis and Sir Ralph Rodriguez finished first in the discus throw, while Austin Westmoreland finished first in the pole vault for the Wildcats.
Ives wrapped up the victory for the Wildcats with a first place finish in the long jump.
After the meet, the Varsity Girls are 2-0 in Flint Metro League play and the boys are 1-1.
