Lake Orion’s second annual cow pie bingo met with success at approximately 1:30 on Nov. 7. That’s when ‘Mikey,? the calf left his mark on a chalked off square in the Lake Orion High School parking lot.
Mikey was led around by his owner, along with the King, Michael McGreary, and Queen, Jacqueline Maznio. McGreay is in the second grade at Webber Elementary School. Maznio is a fourth grader at Carpenter Elementary School.
The event was a fundraiser for the Class of 2005 All Night Graduation Party.
‘The event was a lot of fun. It was supposed to be our major fundraiser, but it brought us together and we’ll continue to work towards our goal of providing a memorable evening for the Class of 2005,? chairperson Mike Kohut said.
He credited co-organizers Dana Klooster and Lani Galasso for their efforts and said everybody learned a lot about cows.
While ticket sales didn’t meet expectations, the raffle winner, Gary Sulley, grandfather of the young king. had no complaints. His ticket matched the square where Mikey left his cow pie and he took home 10 percent of the ticket sales.
